Papa John's International, Inc. ranks as the third largest pizza chain in the United States, trailing only Pizza Hut (a division of YUM! Brands, Inc.) and Domino's, Inc. The company has built a chain of more than 2,800 pizza delivery and carry-out restaurants operating under the trademark "Papa John's" in 49 states, the District of Columbia, and 20 international markets. Approximately 570 of the outlets are company owned, with the remainder being franchised. The firm also franchises about 115 Perfect Pizza restaurants in the United Kingdom. After the opening of its first store in 1985, Papa John's grew rapidly through the late 1990s before settling in as a more mature company in the following decade. In a highly competitive segment of the restaurant industry, Papa John's has managed to carve out a highly profitable niche by offering a very limited menu consisting of pizza, breadsticks, cheese sticks, chicken strips, chicken wings, and canned or bottled soft drinks; and by using high-quality ingredients and touting them in its trademark slogan "Better Ingredients. Better Pizza."




New Menu Items at Papa John's Pizza

Papa John’s New Items:

  • Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Cheesesticks: Bread sticks layered with hickory-smoked bacon, Cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and baked, $5 with the order of two large, two-topping pizzas
  • Wisconsin Cheese Stuffed Cheesesticks: Bread sticks topped with asiago, fontina, provolone and mozzarella cheeses, and baked, $5 with the order of two large, two-topping pizzas

Papa John’s Pizza New Item: 

  • Pan Pizza, a deep-dish pizza with a caramelized cheese crust that’s crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a variation on Papa John’s pizza sauce and guests’ choice of other toppings, current introductory price is $10, will eventually rise to around $12, depending on location, compared to a large original cheese, which is around $13.

Papa John's New Menu Items

  • Ultimate Meats Pizza features five types of meat, Papa John’s signature hand tossed crust, layered with all natural pizza sauce, a hearty helping of premium pepperoni, salami, sausage, center cut Canadian bacon and hickory smoked bacon. To top off this awe inspiring meal, the pizza is covered with mozzarella cheese, baked fresh and then sprinkled with bacon seasoning for an extra bacon flavor kick.
